Cherry Burl from a locally sourced tree I first turned and then did heavy carving and pyro with some texturing and airbrush work. Ammonite and trilobite added. Finished with 80:20 danish oil to mineral spirits to keep the natural wood look. Size is approximately 22”x 15”.
Cool! I did a nautilus shell relief carving, in cherry, a few years ago. Following the Golden Ratio nature shows us again how amazing it is. I like the other little fossil creature sneaking in as well. All well balanced appropriately balanced. Well done! What is your carving tool(s) of choice?
