1791 Ash salad bowl.

1791 Ash salad bowl.

After roughing, this bowl stayed on the shelf for about a decade, before I finished it. It metered 8% MC before final turning. Measures 13" x 4 7/8", and weighs 2 lb 12.4 oz. Sanded to 600gt, cured Danish oil natural, preserved with lemon oil wax. The walls are intentionally kept very thick and sturdy, as this bowl is intended for heavy use.

I've got a lot of Ash to work through so saving this pic as a template. I have to take the tree down first. It's dead and on my property. I hope my coloring inside is as good as this one.
