1887 Bubinga.

1887 Bubinga.

I originally purchased this bowl blank in 2011, and it's been setting on the shelf for a long time......mainly because the grain didn't really "pop" for me! Incredibly, it only had a 6% MC, and was obviously KD. I did rough and monitor weights, and over a period of 6 months, it did lose 0.2 oz! I wanted to see if the weight would change. We are probably entering the thought of "equilibrium" with this finding. 9 3/8" x 2", 1 lb 1.3 oz. Sanded to 600gt, Danish oil natural, Beall 3-step buff. Very difficult to get a clean tear-out free cut on bone-dry Bubinga...but, it can be done! :)
