AAW January 2010 Contest

I call this piece Inspiration. It was a large cherry burl that my brother gave to me months ago, but it was too big for my mini Jet. My two choices were to cut the burl (that would be a shame) or get a bigger lathe. A few weeks ago I got my bigger lathe. So this piece of wood was my inspiration to save up for the new tool.

Who in this group would have done any differently?
I can hear it now, "Honey, my brother gave me a piece of wood so I have to buy a bigger lathe". Hey Jon, ya gotta do what ya gotta do, right?
Nice job keeping it together. Must have been a little nerve racking. By the way, beautiful wood!
