after life

Since about 11 days after first starting to turn, I've wanted to make hearts. When Michael Anderson solved my stumbling block, I dived in. Unfortunately, the person I would most like to make hearts for is no longer able to receive them. While making hearts for Christmas presents last fall, I got the idea for this piece and just finished it. I've not done much craft painting and it's my first attempt at carving, so there are a great many flaws. With Donna's sage advice, I may go back and try to fix them. Or not. Cherry, oak, acrylic, cotton fabric, 21" x 1 3/4" x 10 3/4", individual hearts 3 3/4".
