Ash Ring

Ring sculpture. The missing piece was removed along natural cracks, followed by scorching the crack surfaces. 11.5" wide, 13" tall, 4,5" thick, including the ebonized walnut base. Finished with Osmo polyx and buffed.
Did you turn that from a slice, sometimes called a cookie, from a oak log? Really an interesting piece, gets my attention!

Very cool Michael. At first I thought the ring was segmented, but I assume those are natural cracks in the end grain?

Very nice Michael! Well done. I keep going back to look at it more. It has some sort of antler-like quality to it.
