"Autumn Grove" - prototype (2013)

Curly maple, maple burl, birch twigs, Trans-tint alcohol-based dye, metallic waxes. Shellac and wax finish (box, lid), acrylic lacquer (twigs). About 4" dia. x about 10" H.

I was experimenting with stencils cut from masking tape and found out that what I hoped would look like leaves end up looking like goldfish when the wax bleeds out of the edges of the stencil ;-)
