My grandparents asked me to make these replacement bedposts for their bed that they have had since the 70s. This is very different from what I usually make, so I still need a lot of practice making replicas. The original ones on the right are fir or cedar and appear to have been turned between centers, stained, and lacquered. Mine are alder stained and waxed. I am a bit of a procrastinator, so I couldn't use a poly or shellac because I made them the morning before they flew out.
