Mahogany, turned, carved, textured, burned, painted. (WHEW!) I got lots to learn about that burning thing. You can see a few spots on his knees where I mistakenly touched the pen. Glass eye on top is bright blue, even though color rendition on the rest is dead on. Go figure.

Way too much work involved in this little guy. He's about 4" tall.

Mike - I usually try to kill bugs in my garage....not make more! You must have a real understanding wife. Theresa would banish me to the garage if I brought in art like this.

I like the articulated looking legs, this creature looks like it is going to start walking at any minute. Also I like the fact that there is some obvious turning to the work. The kids in your neighborhood must really like to come over and visit!!!
