Burly elm

Elm is not a wood I turn a lot, but each time I do Im surprised by how much I enjoy the result. The birds eyes in elm usually split and that becomes a distinctive feature along with the interwovern grain patterns that make elm a bit of a challenge to turn. This little bowl is filled with surprises, just look inside and theres a whole little cosmos. 6.5" x 3.25" finished with a mixture of polyurethane, tung oil and turpentine.
