Cave Seven with passage

Largest one of the new series of Cave 7 pieces I have done this year. Alligator Juniper about 7 tall by 9 wide. I have been retired from gallery work this past year giving me some time to experiment with new work. I will be rejoining Luca Decor in Santa Fe at the end of the month.
Excellent work as usual, Jim. Both styles (brickwork & bead/basket work, etc.) are very well done and attractive individually. However, IMHO, the two styles together aren't very complementary and seem to overwhelm each other - if that makes sense. Just my 2¢!
Perhaps a band of plain wood between the two would help a little, but both styles/techniques are probably too strong to be used on the same piece.
I'm sure my opinion may be in the minority here. 😇
