Chakte-Kok Round Bottom Box

Debuting a new species here, this classic round bottom box is turned from Chakte-Kok (Sickingia salvadorensis) It is one of only a few in the world that naturally displays a brilliant bright red color tone. The texture is very fine and it turns and sands really well. Box features include a true round bottom, chamfered rim, domed lid, curved sides, and a small base. Turned, hollowed and finished with abrasive wax. Size is 1 5/8" diameter x 1 3/4" tall. It is a beautiful wood, with unique streaks, colors and patterns!

Another lovely box in my favorite style, Gabriel. My experience with Chakte kok is that it will lighten in color over time ... to a sort of tan color.
