"Chance" is my submission to the juried show "Seeds of Growth". The chosen art will be auctioned off to raise money for Women in Turning at AAW'S National Symposium in Raleigh, NC (June 4-7). I am thrilled to be presenting three demos and joining a panel on Color in Woodturning.
"Chance" is 2" x 2" x 3", made from fire carved & sanded maple (the embryo), barb wire & a clock gear (the nest), sewing pins, PLA & acrylic paint (the poppies).
This little guy represents the challenges and possibilities inherent in growth. Delivering change can be disquieting. Metamorphosis is hard-won, one stitch at a time, created by slow consistent alterations. By letting go of the familiar, people can disrupt a comfortable path and bite into a captivating new future.
