First illusion piece in cherry. Decided to include sap and heart wood and see how it ages. Design is original but was influenced, or maybe is a deconstruction of, a basket by Carrie Bethel of the Mono Lake Paiute. 9.75"x2.25", no finish.
Good call re sapwood/heartwood. Just like your last piece, adds authenticity with an aged appearance. And the fine beading, though much more work, really really makes a huge positive difference.
