Cherry segmented amphora shaped bowl

The shape of this bowl was inspired by an ancient Greek Panatenaic Amphorae I found online. Panatenaic Amphorae were large ceramic vessels that contained olive oil and were given as prizes in the Panathenaic Games, held every four years.

14" tall x 10" dia Cherry with maple and walnut feature rings. Finished with Watco natural and then buffed. The central feature ring was inspired by Malcolm Tibbetts piece "For the Boy King". It took me quite awhile figuring out how to do it.
very nice

Dick, great job! I hadn't thought of "For the Boy Kong" in a long time. I'm happy that I provided just a little inspiration, but you've certainly "created your own piece" here. Congratulations.
