Child of the Corn

Child of the Corn

This 12-inch tall vase was turned from a block of Walnut. A 3-point multi-axis approach was used to create the twist. Texturing and coloring were added in the carved sections between the rising 'stalks'. When I finished the piece it reminded me of a stalk of corn with strands of brown husk curling around the inner corn. Finish is Watco oil buffed on the Beall system.
