Walnut Vase/Candle Holder

This walnut piece can be used as a vase (weed pot) or a candle holder. The top piece is maple with a tenon, but a friend thought is was too dark (not enough contrast), so I painted it black. Some texturing on the sides and some gold wax was put in the middle ring for a reverse gold look. Inside is hollowed out. 5" dia. Finished with tung oil and Beall buffed. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome, Don L.
Gorgeous piece Don. That walnut sure is pretty. The top looks like it's all one piece you blended perfect with the walnut. Very well done.

I like it a lot. Beautiful piece of walnut and I especially like the texturing.

(I've sworn off buying tools for a while, but I gotta get a texturing tool.)
