Ikebana Vessel

This was an assignment of our local very small club, which supplied the wood and the flower holder. Never having seen one, I researched it and found it is an ancient Japanese art where the vessel should not at all detract from the flower arrangement. I tried to get a simple form with burned trim reminiscent of a basket. The burning brand was made from wire following Molly Winton's generous instructions. 7"dia. x 2 1/2" high, sparted ambrosia maple, Deft semi-gloss finish. Comments and suggestion requested.
This form it also super and the branding is too!

I am experimenting with branding -trying to teach myself. I will post something soon.
