AAW December 2011 Contest

Osage orange carved in a Jordanesque form, about 3 x 3, no finish just Beall buffed. This form will highlight contrasts in sapwood and heartwood very well. Too bad the wonderful yellow color of osage orange will slowly turn brownish.

I see several people doing "John Jordan bowls" from time to time, and this is as nice as the originals! .....still don't have the foggiest how this is done! Interesting that no finish was applied.....I might have to try that sometime!
