Spalted Elm Burl

I loved the natural opening on this spalted Elm Burl and donated a little skin sanding the inside of it with sandpaper stuck to my index finger tip. The lathe was turning very slow.

I do not reccomend using a finger as a sandpaper holder inside a small irregular opening. Even at very slow rpm I abraided some skin and I imagined how quickly you could lose a finger at higher rpms. Nasty! Must invent articulated artifical finger because hands and fingers are wonderful devices to be cherished.
