Ambrosia Maple Set 1

This cored bowl set will be going to the empty bowl project this weekend in Houston. The wood is Ambrosia Maple which has as well been drying on the racks in the studio since 2007. There are 4 bowls included in the set, with the outside dimensions of 11 diameter by 4 high. The bowls were finished with Walnut Oil and waxed to be used as utility items if so wished. The outside bowl still had a little red color from the beetle remaining. The five years of drying turned the color to a deep brown. I like the remaining grain and colors particularly after the Walnut oil being added.
Hal, Thanks again. This particular set went to one of our local club's wifes who wanted it in the worst way. He was in charge of our contributions to the project and paid for the above set prior to giving it to the empty bowl people. I in turn gave the proceeds to empty bowls while he watched me do it. So, you might say that the set was hijacked in a manner of speaking. I am really glad that she did get it - going to someone who really knew the value in this work. I was hesitant to even offer it to the empty bowl project from the start. So, there you now have the full story of the Ambrosia Maple Set #1. Thanks again for your kind remarks Hal.
