Failed Mix Texture

The was a nasty bark pocket hidden under the small knot on the surface. Ended up being a dish instead of having a bowl or box in the middle. Shame, but one bottle of CA was not going to firm up anything of that size. If only I could find my lights! Sun not cooperating.
No, my standard method, which was what was so frustrating. I bored a 1" hole for the pin jaws in the center of what was to become the "bowl" section. Hole was clean, but must have been all of an eighth of an inch away from the massive bark inclusion, so I didn't discover it until I had reversed and started to hollow. Still, it was firewood to begin with, and a sort of fun piece at the end, so no loss but my time. It's about 11" at widest, and a bit over three at highest.

I'll hit it with some more shellac and buff to get the depth and emphasize the chatoyance.
