Dyed Buckeye Burl

This piece started as a pretty large block of buckeye burl, about 1ft square x 2 ft tall, really an ugly piece, not much of the blue/gray that makes buckeye burl so nice when finished.
Aniline dyes (black, red, yellow) were used to color and many coats of Woodturners Finish used for final finish. Black gesso was applied on the inside of the form.
The piece stands 13 tall, 9 diameter and a heavy 3/8 thicklight as a feather.
