Mahogany and Pecan Cake Plate

How do you cover a 9" square cake using a round cake plate? It's simple, but you'll need a larger than normal dome! Doing the math revealed that the dome would have to be at least 12.75" diameter. But that would leave no room for the icing. Voila! Here's one I made using a 14" dome. The base is solid Honduran Mahogany with Pecan foot and accent. Should work very well, pending the cake is not too tall.
Dimensions 15" wide and 4.5" tall. Finished with 4 coats of Waterlox.
C&C always welcomed!
