First Turning

This is my first wood turning. Although it looks a like a dog bowl, I think the workmanship is reasonably good for a first project. I hope to show improvement through the projects I add here.
Diameter is 9" by 1 1/2" high. Finished with Mineral Oil and Chapmans Beeswax Salad Bowl Finish.
Ralph-

Again keep up the good work. From the picture, your piece looks good. What's the size, finish and wood?

Doesn't look like a dog dish to me. Nice form, relatively thin walls, that's fairly impressive for a first turning. You're on the right track.

These two pieces are great for first turnings. My first two will never see the light of day.

Thanks Hal,

I turned these two last May just after I got my lathe and set it up. My more recent work is better and I'm also finding it easier to produce good work. So long as we continue to improve that is the main thing.
