Juniper Branch

Small hallow form out of Mountain Juniper. This wood has great color and curl but is very hard to sand and finish. Keeping this branch intact on a twice turned piece had its challenges.

I am curious of the grits you use on this wood and what type of finish, its very nice. The finish is different than on the alligator juniper, shiney vs knocked back..I like both
Maybe contrast the finishes.

@charlie knighton I sand to 400 grit. I have found that I get better results sanding these pieces with abranet discs because they take a little longer to load up with the juniper resin. I then oil them with Waterlox several coats followed by a beall buffing. Hope this helps.
