Imperial shaped yo-yo, made from a single block of Brazilian Yellow-heart, with no glue holding the sides and axle together. The side-caps are turned from stabilized maple burl cast in blood red acrylic.
Thanks Gerald. If getting it balanced is the issue, start with solid fine grained woods...no spalting, voids, cracks or irregular grain. Then it's just a matter of precisely measuring each side as you go to insure uniformity from one side to the other. Those rubber rings on the outside rims help with balance as well, shifting some weight closer to the axle.
