Long Tall Sally

This was originally inspired by Brian Lensink's pushke project he posted a while back. The challenge here was to make a basket illusion looking piece using segments. This has about 6000 tiny segments layered over a simple segmented tube. Accuracy and alignment were challenging! About 11" tall. Maple, ebony, yellowheart, bloodwood, walnut, black india ink, finished in gloss lacquer. There is a follow along project "illusion Illusion" in segmenterwoodturners.org for full details on construction. All C&C welcome.
The challenges making this piece are well worth checking the follow along project out! The end result speaks for itself!! There are a ton of learning and “aha” moments to see in the process!! Well done Steve!!
