Brother’s Hat

Ambrosia maple with a lacquer finish. I wanted to make my brother a wood hat for his birthday. Timing for professional training didn’t work out. I had a club member show me how to approach making a hat. So after multiple terrible mini hats and viewing all the videos I could find I attempted to do this. I referenced the April 2020 AAW magazine that featured JoHannes Michelsen making a wood hat. The first two attempts were a disaster. went through the top on the first and the tenon broke on the second one. I hope it fits as I just had the circumference measurement to make it a surprise.
I bet he will be happy AND proud to wear it. Really nice job!
