Ring Box #2

Ring Box #2

(2014) Spalted Maple or Beech (?) - 2½”Ø x 2¾”h. – with a cup bur texture.

Since I gave the first box away for the club exchange I thought I would make another with a different decoration.

A demo by Neil Turner (Australia) at the Bucks club in 2013 was the inspiration for this box. Neil just calls this a box, but I thought it would be perfect for holding rings. The tip of the ring stem is what holds the lid in place and protrudes enough through the lid to continue the exterior design.
Your texture work is striking! You say the texture was made with a cup bur. Where do you get these? It looks like you used a variety of sizes.
