Morado Twist

Morado Twist

This 5 1/2 inch diameter bowl was turned from Morado, also known as Bolivian Rosewood. A multi-axis method was used to turn the twisted upper section. The lower section was turned on-center to provide an interesting contrast between the cylindrical and spiral contours. I enjoy the different grain patterns that are created by turning these different contours. A textured ring was added below the twisted section. Finish is Watco oil.
Thanks Roger! I really enjoy how the curved surfaces interact. It gets even better when the grain patterns are enhanced by the interaction
