Finished 8-20-2022, original block of wood was 22% MC and after roughing, it took a total of 18 months to stabilize. 5 5/8" x 2 13/16", 9.9 oz, sanded to 600gt, Danish oil natural, Beall 3-step buffed. Ziricote is one very unique and beautiful wood with it's spider-like grain patterns that are found on no other woods that I know of. Turns well, but difficult to season correctly without checking associated with this wood. Sold for $140.
I like this form Odie, what I can see of it. The rim is not your norm from what I recall!
Nice piece Odie! I wasn’t aware of ziricote’s grain—wild stuff!

Thanks, guys......I appreciate it. :)

Russ.....yes, I've done this rim shape a few times lately.... I plan to do more of it. It's a shape I actually pioneered many years ago, and am bringing it back for certain blocks of wood. It only works well with blocks of wood that are at least 3" tall, and many of the blocks that are available to me are only 2".
