Here is a little beaded box, 1 7/8" tall and 2 1/2" in diameter turned from wood labeled as Mexican cocobolo. Hollowed exceptionally well and smelled wonderful. A delicious piece of wood to turn....
very nice, is this approximte size the one that works best for you, seems to be a good size for coffee or end tables?? your gallery was used for ideas thanks
Baitbegger, this is a size I struck upon as much as anything to accommodate some of the highly figured sticks of wood that I have and use as small pieces as practical to turn a functional yet decorative box. I also try to tailor boxes to fit a lady's hand as they seem to be the people who are most interested in them. I am flattered you would use my gallery for ideas. Thank you.
Mike, I love this box, the form is perfect. You are so right about women buying boxes and making it to fit their hands and preferences. I've found women like the rounded bowl form best and lids that can be removed with one hand. Very nice work.
