2186 Red Amboyna Burl from Thailand. Amboyna burl is one of the most sought after woods of the world, and the figure and coloring on this 2-tone example is why it's so desirable. 12" x 1 3/8". 1 lb 4.1 oz. Sanded to 600gt, Danish oil natural, Beall 3-step buffed. This could hardly be called a bowl, but I used that term to describe it, so that it would be more visible in a computer search. The better, and more appropriate term would be "platter". Finished 5/21/2023, and sold for $385 6/23/2023. Turns, sands and finishes extremely well.....a pleasure to turn!
