Cherry Plate

Cherry wood with acrylic painted Monarch butterfly and cone flower. Plate fell and chipped part of the edge off so I thought what could I do to use the edge and this is what I came up with, which was much better in the end than a plain plate. Happy accident.
A woodturner is often measured, not by what they can do when everything goes right, but how they recover when everything goes wrong. First class recovery! Spectacular painting oriented so well with the figure to create so much depth in 2 dimensions.

Thanks Rick for your comment and yes always a chance to see what you can do. Sometimes it brings out our best creativity.
