Red oak 8" square x 1/4" thick, about 1 1/4 high. Danish oil. Made this to see if I could do it.

Thanks Russ and Tom, you are correct Tom it's like most things on the lathe not as easy as it looks.
Russ, I posted a picture of the bottom. The bead on the outside looks to lift the plate from the table.
