Red cedar, 8-3/4” x 4-3/8”. Instead of using pyro and Indian ink on the rim I decided to add a bead and undercut the rim. I think I made the right choice😁

Yeah....I thought the same thing when I saw that rim......really nice. Some really great things "just happen" spontaneously when turning. Many times it's the wood that makes you adjust your original thought.....natural flaws, cracks, and whatnot, but sometimes you just get that little bit of inspiration on the spot!

Thank you! That’s exactly what happened with this piece, had a totally different plan for the rim. This was a “inspiration on the spot” moment😁.

My experience with ERCedar is its a light as most cedar is… I am a west coast guy .
But never turned any cedar. Because some

Sorry Michael been offline for 15 days due to the hurricane. The wall thickness on this one is about 3/16, thinner than I usually do cedar since it is very brittle, I was lucky this one didn’t crack.
