Olivewood Burl Round Bottom Box

Back to the round bottom style and boy is this one a stunner!! Turned from a rare chunk of Olivewood Burl (Olea europaea) this piece is the definition of beauty! I actually purchased this piece from Germany, and it took almost three weeks to arrive. It sports a true round bottom, chamfered edges, domed lid, and a thin wall. Turned, hollowed, and finished with gloss lacquer. Size is 1 3/4" tall x 1 3/4" diameter. This wood is amazing to tool, takes a nice polish after sanding, and is very easy to turn!

Stunner, exactly!

Sometimes it’s hard to steal the thunder of Olive’s fantastic grain patterns….you’ve done a great job of doing that with this little beauty Gabriel! Bring on the Bocote!
