Camera doesn't do it justice!
Started with a 4x4x6 basswood block and a 5x5 piece of apple.
Turned the base/stem off axis(opposite corners to start to get the curve)Finished with green and brown ink. Padauk used for the seed pod/cover. Textured with dremel bit to look like seeds.
Way to go Phil! If you’re looking for a good “red” wood, I suggest Bloodwood. Padauk will quickly go brown so remember that when matching it with other browns.
