This bowl blank was cracked beyond what I’d usually consider workable, but I decided to experiment with a Kintsugi-inspired technique to highlight the damage instead of hiding it. After stabilizing the wood with dyed cactus juice, I painted the crack walls with pearlescent gold and filled everything with a nearly clear resin using a pressure pot. Once turned and polished, the cracks became subtle golden veins running through the bowl—almost like it had healed itself.
