Time for something different! You all know that many of my boxes are inspired by box master Ray Key. But my second most inspirational woodturner is Bert Marsh. So, this piece is modeled after his signature NE ogee bowls. Turned from Masur Birch (Betula pendula var. carelica) this style of bowl is really unique. Design features include a natural edge, sloping ogee sides, and a small dovetailed foot. Turned, hollowed, and finished with abrasive wax. Size at the widest point is 4" diameter, x 3" tall. So, what do you think, does it reflect Bert's style? I certainly think so!
