Stone Spirals

Canarywood, Tamarind, and acrylic paints. 7.5"h x 5.25"d. Another captured spin top. This one carved and painted to look like hand laid stone spirals. Sprials because it spins, stones because why not. I chose the Tamarind because the light color and the spalt zone line looks like granite. Tamarind is also quite dense, so works well for the spin platform. Additional views and video below.
Additional views and video. This will rotate for around 3 minutes with a good spin.

I like it! Enjoyed your recent captured spin top demo in Louisville. I took a crack at it myself. My base wobbles a tad (and only spins 40 seconds). Your embellished stone in the bottom gave me a thought that perhaps I should countersink a lead weight in my base. In fact, at first, I thought that's what you'd done-- countersunk a stone. Have you tried that? I noticed you've used a magnet in some of your bases to attach to another decorative base-- perhaps that could also counter a wobbly base.
