Tangle Pattern cherry hollow form

Carved cherry vessel , tangle patterned , burned , acrylic painted. Dimnensions 5.5 tall x 3.5" wide (a companion to the blue basket weave completed in May) . As with the last carving , these are hand drawn and carved with a micro motor.
I like, in particular, how the lip comes out of the piece as its own, smooth element. It accentuates the beautiful carving and gives refinement. I'm assuming the top lip was turned separately and inserted?
