Tulip poplar hollow form

6.25”h x 6”ø

I discovered Gordon Browning’s work about a year ago and was immediately drawn to the sense of volume in his forms. There’s a tension between maximum volume and minimal mass that’s intriguing, especially given our medium. This piece, turned from a log of tulip poplar I cut down three years ago, was inspired by Gordon’s work and the impact it has had on my practice.
