Bleached silver maple hollow form

6”h x 6.5”ø

Finally got around to finishing one of the vessels I turned in Kevin Jesequel’s class at Arrowmont last month (highly recommend). This chunk of maple was very wet and stringy, but sanded nicely and took on a soft shine once it dried out. I was pleasantly surprised by how little it moved during drying; aside from some undulation in the figured areas and a very slight elongation through the pith (both of which are to be expected), the wood proved pretty stable.
