Back at the boxes again, but this time it is a unique piece of Honduras Rosewood Burl (Dalbergia stevensonii). Hailing from the evergreen swamp forests of southern Belize, this particular piece is lighter in color and has more cream/orange/red coloring than past boxes I have made from this wood. The grain is spectacular, but working the wood is difficult, as it is very dense and has a lot of interlocking grain. The shape on this one is a bit more squat as well. Turned in my signature round bottom style, hollowed and finished with buffed abrasive wax. Size is 2" diameter x 1 3/4" tall.
