Veil of Staves

Finally, I made a staved project with no need for accurate angles..... in fact no measurements at all!!! This was inspired by the vases that Mike Hosaluk had on show at St Paul. I think his were carved from solid. This is made with steam bent white oak staves, airbrushed with Wicked airbrush paints. It's about 200mm tall. All comments and critique welcome.
Steve, the concept is wonderful and the shape is appealing. Having some of the staves visibly start or stop along the sides caught my eye. This tends to stop the flow, which, if intentional, is a success. Conventional thinking is that flow is good. You're the artist, so it's your call. Did I mention it's wonderfully original?

This was mostly a case of winging it. No real intention or plan! I suppose it’s kinda band aided together.

Great piece! I think it works and maybe part of it's charm is that you sorta randomly put it together. I say random but you were definitely "designing" it as you went along. The colour works great.

Very original Steve! What did you use to glue them…let alone clamp them, lol! I’m thinking a Bonney 460 clamp was used a lot, haha!! Way to get out of the box Stavemaster!!
Russ, it was glued with Titebond original, mostly clothes pegs for clamps although the Bonny left hand clamp was used a little :)
