"Heart Shaped Box"

A lidded box…I found this bowl rough out that had badly cracked. It was upside down on a shelf on its way to the fire pile when I saw the possibilities...Turned, carved, textured and colored. Pretty much my standard recipe these days. In the early days of progress the piece set flat on a flat surface. Then it moved a bit and I've decided to simply let it be. Wood never really dies... 5-1/2 x 9-1/2. Karen spotted the negative space shape. Thanks to the late Curt Cobain for the title...

I know you explained how you did this, but I still can't wrap my head around how you did it. It's really fantastic and beautiful. Another amazing beauty you've done!
