Lidded Pot No. 3

Still playing with lids for these olla forms. This is my third attempt. I made this one for the AAW forum box swap led my Michael Anderson. I got it out about two months late, but the recipient (@Walter Mooney) seems happy despite the wait.

Sandblasted Walnut, Milk Paint. 5”d x 4.5”h
Beautiful piece! Ive done a little sandblasting but didn’t realize walnut would blast that well. Did you find it a hard wood to blast say like ash or was it softer?

Ted, I guess it just depends on how much blasting effect you’re looking for. I haven’t found a wood yet that didn’t react to it in some way. I’ve found that with walnut, it mostly opens up the pores and doesn’t affect the rings too much.
