Black and White Ebony Round Bottom Box

This box is one of my favorites to date and has quite the story! The wood is absolutely stunning, along with a nice form and finish. I brought this box to our biennial OVWG "Turning 2025" symposium over the weekend and I was honored that it was selected by professional turner Pat Carroll as one of four pieces to be critiqued on Friday night. The other pro turners took turns critiquing the piece as well. Turned, hollowed, and finished with buffed abrasive wax. Size is 2" diameter x 1 7/8" tall. This piece is now in the collection of Pete and Shirley Kekel, owners of Big Monk Lumber Co.
An additional view....
